Please contact support to have this feature enabled (Service Fee $20/Month for most texting requirements). When enabled you can access texting in Communications from your Admin Functions Menu. This service uses the mobile numbers in your Member Database. You can add recipients like you do for Broadcast Email Messages, choose from member plan, communication preference, project/committee, registered for event, etc.
From you Admin Functions Menu > Click on Communication and then Text Messages.
Click on 'Send New Message'
Enter the 'subject' and 'message' of the text, select if you want to use your member database or event registrations for recipients, and then the date and time the message is to be sent. Make sure to click 'continue'
On the recipient page, you can choose a member type, or communication preference to receive the message. You can also select a project/committee, registered for Event and other filters from your system.
On the 'Results' page you can view the status of each text as well as any response that was sent.
We are updating the member database to be more attractive and easier to read. It also dramatically shortens the page and provides quick select tabs at the top.

As our Production Team attempts to complete your Premium Production Member's buildout we run into roadblocks at times. If a member has no email address in your Member Database we have no way of communicating with the member. In addition your member will not receive information about prospective customers.
If your member does not have a website that we can gather information about their business or organization, we ask them to submit information at PremiumEntrance.com. In many cases members do not respond to our requests. When this occurs we ask Chamber Staff to encourage their members without a website to visit PremiumEntrance.com and submit the short form. This will help us to complete your entire member community in a timely manner.

1. Getting the Documentation Done
In today's changing online world Two Things need to happen.
One: be sure your community businesses document their individual products and/or services for search (even if they are not selling online), and Two: have a program in place to do this work for your busy business owners as part of their membership, or business license. The General Data Protection Regulation is a law intended to strengthen the right to data protection of individuals in the European Union. The regulation takes effect on May 25, 2018, and applies to all companies and other organizations established anywhere in the world that offer good and services to people in the EU or collect and analyze personal date of EU residents.
The people whose personal data you collect, use, or process in any way are referred to in the GDPR as Data Subjects. This new complex set of rules aims to allow data subjects full control over their personal data, by imposing strict obligations which organizations that process their data will need to comply.
Breach of those obligations may incur a fine of up to 4% of annual global turnover or €20 million (whichever is greater).

Some of you may not realize that through your chamber membership you have a very powerful tool working in the background behind your business. This tool is a vast technical network called Chamber Nation (CN), and it exists solely for the purpose of growth and support of local businesses in communities throughout the United States. CN is based right here in our region in Quincy, California. The company’s motto is “We’re all about GROWTH” and I can attest to the truth of that statement.
The Oroville Area Chamber first secured the services of Chamber Nation in 2006, under the leadership of Paul MacBeth, who helped to define the concept of how the company could be of service to local businesses through their Chambers of Commerce. I had only been with the chamber for a little over a year at the time, but I was extremely happy to work in the Chamber Nation system, then known as ECTown, USA, even though my computer skills at the time were pretty much non-existent!
The company’s initial concept was to provide an inexpensive way for businesses to grow revenue. Chamber Nation chose Chambers of Commerce as the portal through which business owners could access a vast array of tools built specifically to help grow their businesses.
The idea was to get chamber members a presence on the internet so the online Business Directory came into being. But the company founder, Richard Scully, and his partners knew that his wasn’t enough. Each business needed to be individually showcased and needed to be connected to a source that would have the ability to make them easily found on the worldwide web. Connecting all of these businesses under the most trusted source in each community (the Chamber of Commerce) would raise the position of each business in the big search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.) and make everyone within the network more visible on the web. Each business needed its own “landing page” featuring information specific to that business.
The solution: an individual “Traffic Catcher Site’ (TCS). The TCS would be (and is) able to function as a stand-alone website (Chamber Nation provides an individual domain name at no extra charge) with not only contact information for the business, but also the opportunity for photos, coupons, videos (commercials), online commerce and more (just ask Cliff…). For those with a website already in place, the TCS, through its connection to the chamber’s directory, would help drive additional attention to that website. For smaller businesses that couldn’t afford to have a stand-alone website built, the TCS would fulfill that need.
All chamber members have a TCS included with their membership.
Since then, many more features and services have been added to what we fondly call “The System” -- the Mobile Web App, for example, which properly displays your information on smart phones and tablets. BTW, the use of these devices for finding information has increased 100% over the last year! Without mobile visibility you might as well locate your business in an abandoned mining tunnel!
Feel like you don’t have time to mess around with taking advantage of making your business more visible? That’s okay. Chamber Nation will optimize your TCS for you at no charge.
Then there’s Chamber Squad. For a very nominal fee Chamber Nation will build out your TCS and maintain it for you. That means that instead of going into the system and updating your information

Why? Because the mobile world is moving a whole lot faster than you might realize. The Chamber is perfectly positioned to be the provider of this technology, guidance and already has the support in place (US) that so many of your members need today. Seemingly most Chamber of Commerce executives agree with me when I say its no longer about the number of parking spots available in the community for shopping, but how much of the community is online and competing for commerce?
There is way too much technology, but way too little guidance or support for most people when it comes to this subject.
